Introduction
The Center of Forensic Sciences was authorized by the Ministry of Justice, and affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Genomics Institute. As an independent forensic center, we have achieved “Accreditation Criteria for Competence of Testing and Calibration laboratories” and “Certification of Metrology”, We are the first independent organization that has gained both accreditation and certification.
Identification Fields of Center:
1) Forensic Biology: including Paternity Testing, Relatives DNA Testing, and DNA Identification.
2) Forensic Clinical: including injury evaluating, Medical treatment dissension evaluating etc.
3) Propagation DNA Testing (cattle, pig, sheep, dog, etc.)
4) Forensic Pathology
5）Forensic Toxicology
6）Forensic traces Identification
7) Computer judicial Identification
Staff Seniority:
All the experts of the center have the qualified certification from the Ministry of Justice and have the Doctoral degrees.
Lab Assistants all graduate from the related major and have special certification for job after half year’s professional training.
The center engages several foreign experts as advisor groups to guide difficult cases identification.
Social Activities:
At the end of 2004, as the only Chinese delegation, we joined the international group of Disaster Victims Identification, and also carried on the Thai Tsunami Victims DNA testing task.
In April 2006, Chinese Academy of Sciences entrusted us test a 26-year old mummy, which supposed to be one of Chinese famous scientists.
